Which camera does your site need?

6K DSLR time-lapse camera

Our standard camera, and the right choice for most building sites. Its 6K stills let you zoom into detail in the portal, with room to crop and pan in the 4K films.

8K and 12K cameras

For large sites, wide views and cameras mounted a long way from the work, where extra resolution lets you zoom in without losing detail.

Solar-powered camera

For sites with no mains supply, such as early groundworks, rail and highway schemes, and remote locations.

Need live video rather than stills? SiteStream cameras record the site in HD or 4K, in searchable 10-minute clips, with an optional live stream. Already have Dahua network cameras? Our Dahua time-lapse plugin turns them into long-term time-lapse cameras. Not sure whether you need time-lapse, video or CCTV? Read which site camera do you need?

Solar time-lapse camera

A solar-powered Site Eye time-lapse camera filming groundworks.

Films made from our cameras on UK construction sites.

What you get with every camera

  • A free site survey to plan camera positions, check the 4G signal and prepare the safety paperwork.
  • Installation by our own trained engineers, with task-specific RAMS.
  • Remote monitoring and maintenance for the whole project. Camera moves are included.
  • A 24/7 online portal with every time-stamped image.
  • A time-lapse clip from each camera every month, and extra edits for milestones on request.
  • A hand-edited final film, with drone footage, music and titles if you want them.
  • Six months of free portal access after the project ends.

A managed camera or a self-install camera?

You can buy small battery-powered time-lapse cameras and fit them yourself. They suit short, simple jobs. On a construction project that runs for months or years, a managed camera saves your team the work and protects the record.

Site Eye managed camera Self-install camera
Installation Surveyed and installed by our engineers, with RAMS Fitted by your own team
Power Mains or solar, running for the whole build Usually batteries that need changing
Images Uploaded over 4G and backed up in two UK locations Often stored on a memory card on the camera
Checking progress 24/7 online portal Visit the camera and download the card
Faults Monitored remotely and fixed by our engineers Found when someone checks the camera
Films Monthly clips and a hand-edited final film You edit the images yourself

What does a time-lapse camera cost?

Construction time-lapse cameras start from £220 per month, fully managed. Short-term filming for a few days or weeks is quoted per project. The price depends on how long you need the camera, how many cameras, mains or solar power, how they are mounted and the films you want. Every quote is confirmed after a free site survey, with no hidden costs.

Time-lapse camera questions

What resolution are your time-lapse cameras?

Our standard camera is a 6K DSLR, which produces 4K time-lapse footage. 8K and 12K cameras are available for large sites and long-range views. Films are delivered in 4K or full HD.

How often does the camera take a photo?

Every few minutes, for the whole project. Each photo is time-stamped, so you can find any moment in the build in the portal.

Does the camera need Wi-Fi or a site network?

No. Every camera has built-in 4G and uploads images without connecting to your site network.

What if there is no power on site?

We fit a solar-powered camera. Where there is a supply, cameras run on 110 V or 240 V mains.

What happens if the 4G signal drops?

The camera keeps taking photos and stores them for weeks if needed, then sends them to the portal when the connection returns, so nothing is missed.

Who installs and maintains the camera?

Our own trained engineers, on sites across the UK. We monitor every camera remotely and maintain it for the whole project, and camera moves are included.

Can I watch the site live?

The portal adds new images every few minutes, 24/7. For live video, add a SiteStream camera, which records the site in HD or 4K and can stream it in real time.

How much does a time-lapse camera cost?

From £220 per month, fully managed. Short-term filming is quoted per project, and every price is confirmed after a free site survey.
